Introduction
When it comes to good old classic strain, no other name will ring familiar with us than OG Kush. This strain has become a staple household flower over the years, folks have at least once tried OG Kush, rappers mention OG Kush in their lyrics, even folks who are unfamiliar with weed strains have heard the name OG Kush.
From Florida to LA
The story of OG Kush, aka OGK, all started in Florida by a man name Matt Berger, but it wasn’t until Josh Del Rosso operator of JoshD Farms, entered the stage and made the strain more popular in Los Angeles; OG Kush was first called Kryptonite in the early 90s when it first appeared out of Florida, it was later renamed to OG Kush once it made its way Los Angeles.
What is OG Kush?
OG Kush is speculated to be a result of crossbreeding Chemdawg and Hindu Kush; it is a very uplifting strain, creates appetite, and allows folks to feel sociable, it is to no surprise why OG Kush is used to treat anxiety, depression, and lack of appetite as an alternative to drugs like Fluoxetine aka Prozac.
Its sour citrus flavor with hints of woody and spicy pine aroma gives OG Kush its signature flavor and scent that has been enjoyed by stoners since the 90s.
From writer’s perspective
It was a month ago since I picked up some OG Kush at the local dispensary around my neighborhood out in Donmuang, from a small local dispensary called CookiGanj (pronounced cookie gun in Thai). The OG Kush CookiGanj had at that day was recently sent from the dispensary’s farm up on Nhong Kai, which meant I was picking up a batch that had finished its curing process, it had all the characteristics of the strain, from the forest green appearance to the orange hairs, a joint and a bong rip later, I was baked off my head, melted into the dispensary’s couch and having a conversation with the owner and other customers. OG Kush will always be one out of my many favorite strains, even though I am an indica smoker, I still enjoy OG Kush, it has a nice balanced high in my experience.
