Plook Ganja was introduced by Thailand’s Food and Drug Administration as a cannabis and hemp cultivation notification system. Old guides often describe completing that notification as if it authorizes every later cannabis activity. It does not settle separate questions about selling flower, operating a business or producing regulated products.
Before following an old app walkthrough, establish your intended activity and check the current official service. Registration instructions from 2022 should not be presented as a verified description of a working service in 2026.
What was the original Plook Ganja process?
The FDA’s launch notice described three stages: create an account, notify the cultivation purpose and receive an electronic notification document. That explains the system’s original purpose. Keep the distinction between a notification record and a licence in mind. A registration confirmation records the notification made through that system. Do not describe it to customers or business partners as permission for unrelated commercial activities.
Is the linked service working now?
The FDA cannabis information hub still links to Plook Ganja. During our check on 6 September 2026, the linked service at plookganja.fda.moph.go.th did not resolve. We could not verify a working registration session or the current screen sequence.
That observation does not establish that the government discontinued the service. Temporary availability, changed access arrangements or another issue could explain the failure. Use the FDA’s official hub and contact information to confirm the current process. Avoid giving identity documents to an unofficial replacement site simply because it appears in a search result.
Growing and selling flower are separate questions
DTAM’s published FAQ distinguishes cultivation itself from selling the flower: it says cultivation does not require permission, while a grower intending to sell flower must obtain the relevant distribution or processing permission before sale. Land use, business ownership, work authorization and rules for other products can raise separate questions. A blog article cannot determine those from the number of plants alone. Describe your circumstances to the responsible agencies instead of relying on a claim that “registration makes everything legal.”
Prepare before contacting the authority
Write down a simple account of what you intend to do:
- The cultivation location and who operates it.
- Whether the activity is for personal use, research or a business.
- Whether any flower will be transferred or sold, and to whom.
- Whether you intend to process material into another product.
- Which registrations, licences or source documents you already hold.
This is a preparation list, not a claim that every item is an upload field in Plook Ganja. It helps the authority identify which process applies and prevents a cultivation question from concealing a separate sales activity.
Ask where to submit, which documents are currently required, whether the service is available and how to confirm a successful submission. Save the authority’s response and any actual acknowledgement. Do not treat an account sign-up, a pending application or an error screen as completed permission.
If the crop will enter a commercial supply chain
Resolve the licence and sourcing requirements before promising a buyer a delivery date. A cultivation notification is not the same as source recognition or evidence about a particular harvest.
